Our Concept
The Problem
Millions of travelers come to Japan every year. They ride the same trains, see the same temples, eat at the same recommended restaurants — and leave with beautiful photos but no real connection to the place or its people.
The problem isn't the places. It's the wall between tourist and local. Language barriers, cultural distance, and the sheer mechanics of travel keep visitors on the outside, looking in — especially in a city as vast and layered as Tokyo. Japan deserves more than that. And so do you.
The Tourish.jp Concept
Tourish.jp is built on a simple idea: the best way to experience a country is through someone who lives there. Not a professional guide reciting facts — a local person who opens their daily life to you for a day.
Our friends are ordinary Japanese university students. They're not performing a service — they're sharing a world. When you book a friend on Tourish.jp, you're not buying an itinerary. You're being invited into someone's Japan.
What we believe
Every booking is a relationship, not a sale. We measure success by the connections made, not the hours billed. When you meet your friend, you meet a person — not a uniform.
There is no AI matching. Every friend on Tourish.jp has been personally interviewed by our team in Japan. We know them, we trust them, and we stand behind every one of them.
Language and culture should open doors, not close them. Every friend speaks English and is there to translate — not just words, but the context that makes Japan make sense.
We don't send you to the same ten spots. Your friend takes you where they go — the noodle shop they've eaten at for fifteen years, the quiet shrine nobody photographs, the view from their rooftop.
